Complexity comment:

Combinatorics, the art of juxtaposing differing combinations of diverse elements, is a central theme within the complexity sciences. Given a sufficently rich palette of elements, infinite combinations are possible. The results cluster into three areas, the chaotic (confusing), the static (uninteresting) and those rare magical forms we see here, existing at the edge of chaos and alive with dynamic interest.
